"why are you sitting in the back? oh,well i always like to sit in the front, and by the way my name is Tyler. where do you live? oh that's sweet, I run track for USU, but then I quit because I got hurt. I wasn't used to practicing because I automatically made the team through my RAW TALENT. Nice to meet you....Jordyn, right?"
OR
"you know, cooking sausage right before class is not a good idea. then you smell like sausage for the rest of the day!! right? right? okay, just smell my sleeve. no, seriously. get a huge deep sniff of my shirt, it's there, huh? I'm all self-conscious about it. but hey, maybe it'll attract hungry girls and that's always good, right? It's an appealing smell. So what's your name? Nice to meet you! I'm Weston (Westley...?) Where are you living? That's nice."
why am I writing two weird conversations that don't make sense? because they happened. all in a few hours. and how did both of these situations end...?
Tyler searches inside backpack. Weston reaches towards his pocket.
My head is unconsciously starting to shake no, but I can't do anything to stop this.
"Well, Jordyn, it was nice to meet you."
*hand makes contact with phone*
"Do you think I could get your number?"
The row of people in front of me and my buddy, Tyler, are snickering. Weston backs up his brave question with the fact that "he has cute roommates" and suddenly I'm watching my phone number being saved in these two strangers' phones. IS THIS SUPPOSED TO BE HAPPENING??
I don't know what is "normal" for Utah State students, but I feel like I'm the only one who's uncomfortable with this exchange. Maybe I'm the weirdo. (Nah...that can't be it)
I got ready today for the first time in 3 weeks and well, that's what I get.
all because I did my hair.

feeling unique.
this week we had to do an assignment in English called "write down 25 unique things about yourself"
as easy as that sounds....it turned out to be flippin' hard! I had 2 of my roommates helping me out, and even then I was stuck staring at an empty sheet of paper for a good 10 minutes. I hit a new low when I asked my roommate for help and she replied "Oh! You make your bed really good. That's unique." Uh.....that's right everyone!! I'm a pro bed maker and no one can do anything about it. :/
so this is what we ended up with:
1. I'm left-handed. (and so was the girl sitting next to me in class. crap.)
2. I hate Red Vines.
3. My favorite movie is The Grinch.
4. I wear a toe ring all year long.
5. I faithfully wear my retainers EVERY night.
6. I was a cheerleader once, but I hated it.
7. I've only ever worked as a lifeguard.
8. I write in my journal every day.
9. I don't like steak.
10. I went to 5 different concerts in one summer.
11. I play the piano by ear.
12. My favorite place to be is Bear Lake.
13. Sometimes I watch TV on my head. (Don't ask)
14. Had my tonsils removed in 3rd grade.
15. I love to read.
16. Every Thanksgiving my family goes on vacation. Far away from Utah.
17. My little brother looks exactly like me. (poor guy)
18. The Bachelor is my favorite show.
19. I once ended up on the same cruise as my male health teacher. (HEEEYY Coach Horne)
20. I hate Sea World.
21. I've never had Bieber Fever.
22. My laugh. That's all.
23. I love photography.
24. Going running is the worst thing in the world to me.
25. My nails are always painted.
that list took all I had, and then some! Even better news: we had to read them in class. so I told a class of college students that I wear my retainers every night. (I was slapping the boys away after that...) English is gonna be good.

well shoot.
this whole blog thing seemed like a good idea, until i realized it required time. and effort.
But I'M BACK. for a minute.
It has definitely been a while...and i'm actually not even watching Grey's Anatomy anymore...(see below) so I'm like a different person. now let's see....I'm trying to think if anything eventful happened these past few months....oh wait.
MY BEST FRIEND IN THE ENTIRE WORLD LEFT TODAY FOR HIS MISSION.
I guess that's a pretty big deal and/or life changing. You decide. But I am still torn on how I'm feeling. Let me just say that this last semester at Utah State was NOT what I expected. I wouldn't go as far as I "hated it" but I definitely didn't love it. And the only kid that kept me sane...was Lincoln Holt. I am truly convinced that there is not another boy in this world that cares as much as he does. About everyone. (I can say all these nice things about him now that he's gone. I didn't want to give any BYU girls the idea that they should go after him or anything:)
So Christmas Break was awesome. I got to be with my 4 best friends and truly laugh for the first time in a very long time. I loved every single second. Christmas was great to be with my family too. Ever since I've left for college I've realized how much I really do like those dorks. I have the best parents in the world, and my siblings aren't too bad either. :)
Sunday night (Jan 6) I got to see Lincoln for the last time for a while, and it was really good. We just hung out like we usually did, and.....(drumroll).....NEITHER OF US CRIED. haha I was so proud of myself and thought we must be "just that good" (don't worry, I'm an idiot and had no idea how much I would cry Tuesday night when I really had to say goodbye) Tuesday was quite the experience, and something I will never forget. We got to have a conference call with Lincoln, Bryton, Carly, Danika, and me. It was so nice! Linc talked for most of the time while the 4 of us sniffed occasionally. haha We all hung up and I was able to talk to Lincoln alone for a little while. It was so great. We both were being babies. What's new? But this has been such a good experience. I am so incredibly proud of that kid. I know that these next two years are gonna be hard without my constant texts/phone calls/weekly Skypes, but letters will definitely be my new favorite thing. I can't wait to hear from him and feel his excitement while he's out there doing exactly what he should be. Independence, Missouri doesn't know what's gonna hit them. :) Can I just say that I love this church?? I'm grateful to be a part of this Gospel. We are blessed.
Here's a nice big picture of the stud:

P.S. Saw the Elders at Walmart today and I didn't even cry. Holla. :)
