college is different.
there really is no other way to describe it. Somedays I LOVE it and the next day I would do anything to be back home in my own bed, with a large pantry upstairs. but it is definitely getting better. I'm finally getting the hang of it, and I've only gotten lost twice(?) it's good.
On Thursdays I have classes from 3:00-5:20 and then there's institute from 5:30-7:00. It may not sound rough, but after 2 straight hours of psychology/biology, my cozy little apartment starts to scream my name. I woke up yesterday and said to myself "Oh....institute isn't a HUGE deal. I could just go home at 5:20. I could have dinner. and finish some homework. and change into a hoodie and sweats. and watch Grey's Anatomy......"
I was in trouble.
I spent the entire day with an inner battle. Go. Don't go. Go. DON'T GO. and (shockingly) I left my decision for a last minute crises. As I stepped out of the Vet. Science building I had the choice to turn left and walk home, or turn right and walk straight to an hour and a half of institute. and I don't know what came over me....but I CHOSE THE RIGHT. (get it???)
I walked my sorry, hungry, Grey's Anatomy deprived self right over to that institute class and sat down. My teacher walked in and started off class with a happy greeting and a large smile. and would you believe it? I HAD A GOOD TIME. I learned a lot of new stuff. Brother _______ (I really should learn his name...) was extra funny and cheered me right up.
I just have one complaint.
At the beginning of class we were trying to figure out how our teacher could get to know us better. He brought up the idea of taking all of our pictures down the row and keeping those nice mugshots for a later reference....but [luckily] we didn't have time for that today. Bullet dodged... NOT.
In comes the revelation that we can just turn to our friend in class (assuming we have friends in the class) and take their picture on our phones. Send it to his email and BAM. We become a united institute group. Well....I was in the corner. alone. and really. I had no choice.
Subject: I'm Jordyn Olson and happy to be here.
and I'm willing to bet my teacher is rethinking the "phone picture idea" right now.
Sorry Brother ________, at least I came?
